Pre-Wedding Tips
Six months before wedding...
Eat regular, healthy, well balanced meals and drink plenty of water - this will be reflected in the condition of your skin, hair and nails.
Giving up smoking will also improve your skin tone, prevents de-hydration and the development of premature wrinkles.
Exercise regularly - this will make you feel more awake and energised which will help you in the planning of your big day. It will also improve your circulation and flush out toxins in the skin that can cause blemishes.
Have a good skincare routine - if you do nothing else, always remove make-up before going to bed as your body repairs itself the most overnight. Also using a facial scrub can help to remove any remaining make-up as well as sloughing off dead skin cells which helps to brighten the complexion.
Invest in a good moisturiser that suits your skin type, check that it contains an SPF, especially if you're getting married in the summer and aim to use it twice a day.
Having a facial once a month will not only will it be beneficial to your skin by improving circulation and removing dead skin cells, it will also help you to relax.
Use oil to soften the cuticles, file your nails in one direction to prevent breakage and invest in a nail hardener to strengthen and condition. Use a body moisturiser on your hands and feet to prevent hard or dry skin.
One month before the wedding...
Book any additional treatments such as waxing, tanning, facials, manicures and pedicures well in advance of your wedding to ensure that your therapist has time available to do the treatments in time for your wedding day.
If you haven't had a treatment such as waxing or tanning before, its usually best to have a trial run in order to give your skin time to replenish if you do have any adverse reaction to any treatment.
Have make-up and hair consultations so you know what kind of look to expect on the day and so the Make-Up Artist and Hairdresser are organised. Don't be afraid to say you don't like something or ask any questions - you want to feel comfortable on your wedding day.
Invest in a compact with a mirror and translucent powder so can blot any shine on your face before your photos are taken and during the day.
After your make-up trial you should have an idea of the lip colour that you require for the day. It is advisable to take a sample of this colour and invest in a lip stain or long lasting lip colour so you can re-apply during the day.
Have a manicure - remember lots of people will be looking at your wedding ring so its important that your hands and nails look their best.
Use a deep conditioning treatment on your hair and try to have it trimmed every 4-6 weeks to prevent split ends.
Ensure that you book your hair appointment before your Make-Up Artist and that you leave enough time for both.
Week before the wedding...
Make sure you get enough sleep - the recommended amount is about eight hours.
Have hair trimmed the week before your wedding to ensure it looks at its best.
Confirm appointments with Hair and Make-Up Artist as well as the florist, car and caterer.
Give yourself time to relax - it may be a stressful time with last minute planning and welcoming relatives but you need to give yourself a rest. If you don't have time to fit in a nice relaxing massage then just take a brisk walk round the local park to blow the cobwebs away.
The Wedding Day...
Everything is organised so relax and enjoy being pampered.
ENJOY YOUR SEPCIAL DAY !!
